Established in 1953, Titan Abrasive designs, fabricates, and installs industrial blast equipment, including custom blast rooms, dust collectors, media reclaim systems, and blast machines.

Brandon Acker, President, purchased the company from his uncle in 2013. Since then, he’s been completely redesigning the entire product line. In fact, one of Titan’s vendors said Acker has taken the company to a whole other level.

Huff Industrial Marketing redesigned the original website in 2017, while also seamlessly integrating a Shopify e-commerce parts store.

The site was still delivering great leads, and revenue from the store, but with Titan’s continued growth, it was becoming more difficult to find room for the expanded product line and increasing amount of technical content.

The 2023 redesign focused on a refresh of the Titan brand and messaging, as well as moving the site to the new Gutenberg WordPress editor.

Let’s Get Blasted! – a magazine-style blog

Because we’d been creating tech tips, FAQs, product announcements, etc., since 2017, we had a ton of content — which was getting lost in the old-style Resources section.

I recommended we create a magazine-style blog, which means the content is laid out horizontally by categories. Brandon Acker loved this idea and already had a name in mind: “Let’s Get Blasted!” He even bought the URL.

Shortly after the redesign, Brandon exhibited at Eastec 2023 and carried the blog theme into his booth. He also had shirts made with the blog name on the back — which proved to be quite popular!

The blog is easily updated and customized; as we continue to add new content, it’s easy to add a category, or update existing categories, as needed.

Plus, it has a ton more energy than the old Resources section.

Other benefits of the redesign include:

  • Significantly improved navigation, including a mega-menu for the Products section
  • A new Industries section
  • Utilization of new WordPress backend features
  • Updated SEO, content, and calls-to-action
  • Design elements to add freshness and a bit of whimsy

The result is a website that meets the project goal: To position Titan Abrasive as the best-in-class abrasive blast equipment manufacturer.
